Prophet
Muhammad (peace be upon him) died in Madinah and lay buried there. He
was buried in his house which was adjacent to the mosque. Over time the
mosque was extended resulting in the “house” and therefor burial place
of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) now being inside the mosque on
the left hand side of the mosque. Millions of people visit his grave
annually.
While
his grave is fenced off. The grave itself is level with the ground and
now structure is in or around the immediate area of the grave.
